Bombay HC quashes request for 11th Admission Common Entrance Test
Maharashtra FYJC CET 2021 will not be conducted now as it stands canceled. Bombay High Court has quashed a government request and has ordered CET cancellation for 11th Admission this year.
Maharashtra First Year Junior College Common Entrance Test, 11th CET 2021 will not be held this year for 11th admission. As per recent updates on the matter, the Bombay High Court has quashed the government’s request for holding a Common Entrance Test, CET for 11th Admissions this year. Now, admissions would be done to FYJC or class 11 without any entrance test.
The matter of Maharashtra 11th CET 2021 has been in the High Court for quite some time with some of the other issues being brought to light. The government and school education department had proposed conducting a CET this time for 11th admissions as the Maharashtra SSC exams were canceled. This entrance exam was made an alternative way of admissions to have uniformity in the entire 11th Admissions process.
Even previously, many stakeholders had objected to Maharashtra 11th CET 2021 on various grounds. Students of other Boards had objected to this exam as they felt that the paper pattern was discriminatory and was not in sync with the syllabus of other Boards. Such was the case as the education department had mandated that CET for 11th Admission must be based on Maharashtra Board or SSC Syllabus. Hence, many students and other stakeholders had expressed their concerns with 11th CET 2021.
Moreover, some parties concerned were also of the view that if Maharashtra 11th CET 2021 is held, it might lead to a delay in the admission process as the publishing of results might take more time. This could have resulted in a possible waste of precious time that could have been utilized in studies or starting the new academic year on time. Many rounds of hearings took place in Bombay High Court on the matter.
